metaLIFE, metaHUD – what is this all about?

metaLIFE – is a social platform empowering your Second Life. Our mission is to provide you with tools that will allow you to find interesting people, great places and best items easier. And once you connect – to help you stay connected.

metaHUD – is a Second Life HUD application – it’s a product of metaLIFE. HUD stands for ‘Heads Up Display’ meaning that this application will appear only on your screen.


Few words metaHUD, what is it :
- Social Search Engine: using it you can shop for Items and search for Landmarks.
- Social Gridmarking Service: everybody post, rate, comment, tag their favorite places.
- Social Platform: you can find someone like you, just search for couple places that interest you, and you will for sure find some likeminded people there.
- Marketplace: if you are building, designing, scripting something – you cansell your creations on metaHUD.

Few key points about metaHUD:
- Search for anything Choose your Tab( Items or Travel) and enter your search phrase (/8 fun,/8 club,/8 clothes,/8 hair,/8 shoes,/8 textures,/8 guns, etc…) Found cool place – visit it, foud cool item – buy it.
- RATE RELEVANCY rate search results, if you find some landmark or item underrated - give it a thumbs up and next time it will be rated higher, and you will help improve search results!
- Manage Your Favorite Landmark List - find nice place, add it to your favorite list.View it by clicking ‘Categoreis’->‘my favorites’, you will see it’s much faster and comfortable than inventory.
- Express your feelings about anything you discover on the HUD: Comment, Tag, Thumb it up or down.
- Purchase anything you see right on the spot It’s simple : you found something nice, just press Buy button and an item will be delivered to you in a matter of seconds. Don’t want to buy it – if the merchant has set his(her) HOME location – then you can teleport right to their store…Choice is yours!
- Let our servers take care of the hard job of searching – all you have to do tell us what you want to search for, and then just choose the items you like most!

How to use metaHUD

There are only 3 steps:
1. get metaHUD in one of theselocations and wear it ( it will appear in your screen)
2. give it 2 minutes to get familiar with the interface, open an item, close it – by pressing on the big picture, then minimize the whole HUD ( there is a Minimize button), just play with it a bit…
3. Share your favorite places just go there and press Thumbs up button and the place will be listed in metaHUD. You can also Add Picture if you want – press Add picture button, find some nice and relevant picture of the place in your inventory, press right mouse button on it, choose “Copy Asset UUID” and type /8 paste UUID here.
4. SEARCH for anything you want.. all you have to do is talk to the HUD on channel 8 for example type in your chat field /8 clubs and you will see best rated clubs in a couple of moments.
5. Finally Purchase anything you want ( the system will deliver the item in couple seconds and it doesn’t matter where you are) Try first on some freebies, you will find them all in Categories –> Free Items . I am sure you will love them.

Couple tips

Some helpful things worth remembering:
- You can search any time – no need to press Search button each time, just type /8 and enter your search phrase
- you can add L$ to your Meta Mart account or withdraw money any time, using Accounts button.

Creating metaAccount and withdrawing money from it

If you want to purchase something that is not FREE – you have to Create metaAccount first.
How to do it :
- to deposit some L$ to your metaAccount, press Account and choose ‘Deposit L$’ option
- pay some L$ to the Wallet that will appear in front of your avatar and your account will be created automatically.
* The money you deposit belongs to you, we will not do anything with your money. It all is being controlled by our servers and no people ever will touch these accounts. ( you can always check how much money you have in your metaAccount by pressing Account button and choosing Balance option)
- Now you can use these funds to buy anything you find on metaHUD

If you have some money in your metaAccount and want to withdraw it – you can do it instantly. All you need to do is :
- put metaHUD on your screen ( if you don’t have one, get it here: Terminal locations)
- press Accounts and choose withdraw L$ option and enter the amount you want to withdraw using 8’th channel, just type in : “/8 50” and you will get L$50 if you have that much in your account.
